Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II | 1926 – 2022

We were deeply saddened to hear the news yesterday from Buckingham Palace of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

As our Queen she provided selfless service to the country together with a continuity and calm, for over 70 years, bringing happiness and joy to so many, through good times and bad. Her loss is deeply felt, not only in this country but around the world, such was her reach and influence.

Her reign transcended generations, and her legacy will last many lifetimes. The sadness of today will be soothed by the sense of gratitude we all feel for the life and reign that was The Second Elizabethan Era.

A Book of Condolence will be available at the St Mary Magdalene Church in Barwick from today that parishioners may wish to sign.

Floral tributes can be placed either inside the church at the altar or by the Millennium Stone on the village green. May we respectfully ask you to remove all plastic wrappings from any tributes left on the green.

Long live The King.
